Ep 30, 31: Nigella Lawson's Summer
Updated: May 6, 2019
For April, we wanted to keep it light owing to the summers, so we picked Nigella Lawson's 'Nigella Summer.' There are two publishers who released the book a few months apart, one with the name Nigella Summer, and one just Summer. Luckily, for us, in India, every one ended up with the former.

Ravi, our gracious host, set us off to a perfect start with some cold Moscow Mule to ease the summer heat, followed by a yummy Za'atar Chicken with Hummus and Pita. Next was Shubra's prawn salad which was just as refreshing.
We, then, dug into yum Courgette Fritters with Yogurt Dip by Lavanya and some delish perfectly flaky Fish with three herb Salsa and Hasselback Potatoes by Taruna - all this as we continued to sip on our cold Moscow Mule.
Next came the sticky and perfectly cooked Spare Ribs by Varun and Leela's scrumptiously light and tasty Grilled Aubergine Feta Mint and Chilli.
For dessert, we started off with a crispy and gooey Mango Pavlova brought in by Jahnavi, followed by some potent strawberries in Chardonnay jelly by me! Finally, to end the meal, we had two yummy ice creams - first a custard ice-cream by Priyanki and then a margarita ice-cream by Ravi.
It, indeed, was a great way to end the month of April. Lavanya who has her way around the kitchen thinks that the recipes, as most Nigella recipes are, were more like suggestions. Most folk didn't follow recipes to the tee and merely used her recipes as approximations, adding more salt, sugar or booze, as they deemed fit. The meet was quite a success, with a record number of new folk and the newbies feeling more comfortable than ever!
Here's to more!!
